Cant load exe files - 100% cpu usage

December 1, 2009 at 19:59:34
Specs: Windows XP
Can't run some of my programs. When I click on the shortcut for the program, the exe. file just sits in the task manager taking up 100% of my cpu usage. I recently changed my computer's SID, because of some hacked program required it. I managed to fix that, and have run a few system restores in that time. Wondering if it could be something to do with that.

Anyways help would be appreciated thx 4ever :)

It might have to do with the system restore, depending on, whether the program, that's having problems, was already installed.

Anyway, you might try to reinstall one of such programs over the existing one.
So all settings should be untouched, except some possibly missing registry entries.

If you have reinstalled the programs, the registry entries should be fine.

Are you sure, that your computer is virus free???
You might download this ISO file, burn it to CD, start your pc from the CD, update the Antivirus at first and then scan your pc.
Because you never know ...

4ever, It wouldn't hurt to try the possible fix in Response Number 1 in the thread at the link below.

Ive isolated the problem to only vb based programs that are unable to load. For example ive got this program called dirlock.exe that locks folders without a password, and have also got a program that plays .swf files based in vb which also won't run. All other programs are fine.
