chances are xp doesnt support your newer hardware.

according to this your machine will not support xp. You will not be able to play any games or get on the net.

i'm pretty sure I would be able to find all the drivers being as that the mobo is made by asus and most of the componets are made by intel, if only the os would install!

I've seen this problem before with Presario 9000 models. I cant remember the exact fix but there is an option in the bios to disable the particular reading of the SATA configuration for the drives. I cant remember the exact option to change but there is plenty of forums on the net regarding this issue. Disable this option and XP detects the drive.

So then you used partitioning software? Getting info here is tough.

You appear to be among the growing number of people who bought OEM PC with Vista preinstalled only to trash it by trying to install XP.

You need to keep in mind that under the terms of the machine Warranty, OEM PCs are made to die with the original OS. You also have to keep in mind that the manufacturer no longer offer drivers for use with other OS such as XP.
