Cant install XP after DBAN

Received a computer from co. that went out of business. The tech used DBAN to clean the drive, and gave me the XP discs to reinstall.

Well, the system doesnt recognize the cd in the drive at all. I tried 3 others and same issue. I did put the cd-rom in another machine, and that worked fine. So Im a bit clueless as to what is going on. Suggestions?

DBAN has nothing to do with it. Check the BIOS to make sure the CD-ROM drive is set as the 1st boot device.

BTW, if this system only has 256MB RAM, it would be a good move to add at least another 256MB...more would be even better.

You might want to check the cable and the connections to make sure it is all as it should be.
