During equipment and drivers detection test, windows installer comes up with an error message that it's found problems with hardware or software, and tell me to contact MS technicians for assistance, and then it craps out and closes.
I've noticed that some people been suggesting to use different IDE's and to use seperate IDE's for CD rom and the Hard Drive.
Question, could I copy the installation CD to the hard drive, and then try to run the setup program from the hard drive?

you could try copying them... but for me in the /i386 folder that i attempted to copy, a file called command.man wouldnt copy for some reason - please get back to me via e-mail for further corrospondence.

Copying the CD to HD didn't work and still gave the same results: Fatal Error 3E6H.
I searched this bulletin board, under "3E6H" and found few leads.
I think I need to either use a non RW CD rom, or perhaps the new 256 SDI ram memory that I have recently installed is fualty.
So, far XP has not impressed me.

Here is what you do.
if your windowsxp.iso file is already written to a cd. Then you need to download winamp. and run winamp and you would extract the cd to the hardrive and then you will beable to install xp from the hardrive.
But keep in mind that you must have another version of windows running when you try to install XP.

This problem could be caused by your memory. Try switching the order of your memory modules in your mother board, or replacing the memory in your system. This error message went away after I re-seated the memory in the system, and switch the order the DIMMS were installed in the system.
