I recently got a Dell Dimension 8400 Desktop, when i tried to install steam to play Counter strike, the program won't let me finish installing steam. It gave me an error saying "You do not have access to make the required system configuration modications. Please rerun this installation from an administrators account." But I know for sure i am under an administrators account. I am the only user on the computer. I even disabled the guest account. I have steam installed on my laptop and everything works perfectly. I tried everything to fix this problem, I just updated all the fixes on windows update and still the problem exists. Is it SP2 or is it Dell?? And is there some kind of steam fix for this issue? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks alot

Go to Start, Control Panel, User Accounts. There you should see your name and the type of account that you have setup for yourself. HTH Bryan

i dont know how to install steam and when i click on the icon of the steam it loads then i install it but then a windows come up saying updating steam and then after sometime when the steam is updated that window disappear.but when i again click on that icon again it says the stam is updating.where should i install steam.please answer my questions bla
