Ok, I was using Windows XP when it hanged. I reboot the system and XP wouldn't start up, it would either say the file ntfs.sys or pci.sys is corrupt or missing, boot using the XP cd to fix the file. So I do boot with the cd, but then it gives me the xpclient/base/boot/setup/arcdisp.c.
I think that's the directory but the prob is with arcdisp.c. Ok, so I deicde to unplug that HD, because I don't want to format it, it's NTFS btw. So I plug in two different HDs that are blank and was not in my system they are spares that I have lying around. Still same result, so I try to install Windows ME. But then after scandisk, it would boot me back into DOS saying something about extended MSdos error. THe bottom line is, I can't install any OS! What do I do?

Go around ALL your leads behind all your drives and push them in. Then do Motherboard connections. Then push your memory chips in. Then the bios eprom. Then your cards and anything else that could have worked out of a socket.
Then check hard drive cables are intact and dont have tear/hole in them.
Then . . . but you'll have to pay me for more ideas!

Man, I spent all day messing around
trying to fix the arcdisp error. Did a google
search on it and found your post. Took
out the Ram and put it back in, now it's
fine. Owe you one. Thanks.
