Can't install DVD Player on windows xp

i have a NEC 5500A DVD Player, and i can't get windows xp to to accept the drivers. Does anybody have any ideas to help me get this installed. Thank you. David

You shouldn't need any drivers for a DVD drive. You do need software installed to decode DVD movies to play it. If this is what you meant (software not drivers) then what software DVD player are you loading? I have used the new version of Power DVD tht was made for XP and it works great.

I can't get my Creative Labs Dxr3 hardware decoder to work. I'm either gonna say "screw xp", or "screw creative labs". which do you reccommend

Creative Labs decoder card is a clone of Sigma Designs Hollywod PLus decoder card. The differences? The BIOS on them. IMHO The Hollywood plus card is THE best hardware DVD decoder card out there. I have it in my system running XP and using the Windows 2000 drivers, works perfectly. Creative just got the card from Sigma and decided to make their own BIOS and drivers for them...don't know why the messed with a good thing. Creative is known to fall behind on driver updates.
