Need help as I am unable to get past the win xp logon screen. Have tried safe mode, safe mode with command prompt and last knwon good configuration but unfortunately none these work. I have tried selecting any user profile and I get the response which is that it is loading my personal settings, then it suddenly goes to logging off and saving settings. I recently had the following viruses found by norton prior to rebooting: downloader, downloader. trojan, suspicious MH690 A, a trojan horse. Norton advised that these would be removed after a reboot which is now where I am up to. Safe mode is not working, not sure where to go to from here, any suggestions. I do have the recovery cd, however when I put it in it tells that it will rebuild to factory settings and all will be lost - would like to avoid this if possible. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
