I've searched all over the place and havn't found an exact answer for my problem. The problem is my computer will not get past the advanced startup screen. It will allow me to choose to start in safe mode and every other mode but when i press enter, the computer seems to load and then restart.
I thought this might be a HD problem so I reformated and installed XP on another computer. The HD works fine on the PC but when I return in to my PC, I get the same problem. I've tried disconnecting every wire inside the PC and reconnecting and still does not work. I've also changed just about every BIOS option and nothing. I'm really wondering what the problem might be and any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I've tried that also. Whenever I try to start from the XP cd, the computer loads the files but when it comes to selecting whether I want to reformat or not, the screen never comes up. Instead, I get a blue screen error that says "Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF894E528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"
I searched google for it and all of the responses have me doing something from inside Windows, which I can't get into.

sadly I have and nothing changes. It just continues to get up to the advances startup screen. If I don't press anything the pc will wait the 30 seconds and restart, if i do press something, it will just restart.

yanksrok27, your problem is is one of 3 things, a boot sector virus and device driver issue or hardware issue. These are the only 3 things that will give you this type of error. If it is a boot sector virus you should do the following, boot your system with a windows boot disk that can get you to a command prompt (C:\) from here type the following: FDISK /MBR
This will format the master boot record and kill any virus that may be there.
Since you said you tried removing all the ad-on cards and devices i would assume the boot virus is your problem. If this doesn't work PM me and i'll post more on ho to troubleshoot your hardware.

I suggest cleaning out your hard drive and doing a fresh install. Download and run DelPart. It will remove all partitioning on you drive. Then the install will reparition and format the drive.

Installing 'XP' on a different system and then moving it is not a good idea. That can work with Win9X, but not XP.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

Well if my problem is the boot sector issue, that poses a problem as I do not have a floppy drive installed on that pc. But even if that was the case, shouldn't windows not load at all? See this only happens on my setup but if i put the HD in another pc without any other hd being in the system, windows loads fine.
