As of a couple of days ago, I can no longer get online. I open up my browser, and I cannot get to any websites. Keeps giving me the "cannot find address" thing. I have a high speed cable connection. I was on the phone with tech support from Gateway, Road Runner, and I even went through a tech guy that I personally know who thought my computer was hijacked. I used a hijack repair program to attempt a fix, but nothing has worked yet. Is there ANYBODY who has had this problem that can help me out there?? I'm at my wits end!

I do not think you were hijacked. Try unplugging all of your cable connections, roadrunner might have to re-set your connection from their office. THen plug the ports back. I have had that problem a while back. Another problem is that we had to have roadrunner give us a new cable box.

Go to command prompt, type ipconfig then enter. You should see information for the dns suffix, ip address, subnet and default gateway.

Let us know the result.

As long as you are at the command prompt and you pull an IP address type this.

ping www.google.com

see if you can ping them. You should see something like this:

I tried unplugging my cable connections twice already and it didn't change a thing. I also tried pinging as well, but not with the google address. I'll give that a shot, and I'll also try the command prompt for the ip address as well. I'll let everyone know what happens. Thanks.
