I have the Linksys Wired Router BESFR41. We have 4 computers networked some WIN98, some XP and everything has been fine until today. Suddenly, one of the XP machines couldn't connect to the Net. I got it figured out to the issue that it's not getting an IP address from the router, and also can't see the router (I type in the browser 192.168.1.1 and doesn't work.). Also, when I log into the router through one of the other machines and check the DHCP table, the problem machine isn't listed. So it's as if they aren't talking at all!
I've checked all the usual things, cable, lights on the router - all OK. I also installed a second Network card thinking that my original might be fried. Same problem with it too!
The weird thing is that the Windows network (filesharing) works. Just can't connect to the Net!
I tried to give the NIC a permanent IP address per some instructions in a forum comment at Linksys site. When I did that, I could ping 192.168.1.1 (before I couldn;t even do that) but still couldn't connect to the net or access the router through that IP address.
Any ideas?

It's probably either TCP or winsocks. Try reinstalling those (search the site for instructions).
If that doesn't work, open the command prompt (start->run->'cmd'), type the following commands, and paste the output (you should be able to right-click and 'select all' to highlight it, then ctrl+c to copy)
ipconfig
ping 64.233.167.99
ping www.yahoo.com
netstat -es

You could run "net diagnostics" in XP.
Start/Programs/Accessories/System tools/System Information...
Tools from up top, then choose "net diagnostics"
