Ack! Awhile ago I inherited a SEASOND SOLO box from a friend which I could plug my guitar into, then run a cord fromt he SEASOUND SOLO into a provided PCI card i had in my computer, and record from it. The PCI card also apparently acted as a soundcard because I was able to plug my speakers into the box and the sound would play from my computer.
After removing the PCI card I wanted to switch over to onboard sound card (Nforce). I uninstalled all the seasound drivers, and activated my nforce soundcard. Now when i pluig my speakers directly into the back, i cant hear anything! My computer has no problem playing audio, I just cant hear it. Any ideas? Here is what I see under Sound, Video, and games devices in the device manager:
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Codec Interface
Standard Game Port
Video Codecs

Your Nvidia onboard sound card seems OK in Device Manager.
Do you see the Sound Volume icon (Speaker/Megaphone)in your System Tray ?
When you previously installed the Seasound Solo PCI card, did you have to make any BIOS setting changes for that sound card to be active and the onboard card to be disabled?
If so, you must reverse the BIOS Setup change.Another pssibility deals with incomplete removal of of the PCI sound device driver leading to its remnants in the Registry leading to the problem.
Do you see an +?Other Device category in Device Manager if so details please. In the Control Panel >Sound and Audio Devices Properties under Audio tab do you see your Nvidia Audio device or the old PCI sound card you removed in the Playback and Recording devices boxes

I do see the sound audio icon in the system tray, and no i didnt make any BIOS changes, i just inserted the card and ran the CD to install the drivers.
There are no unknown devices in my device manager, just a network controller that I never bothered to install.
Under sound/audio Devices under volume, the Nvidia logo is present and next to it it says Nvidia Nforce Audio, and under the audio tab, the playback device is Nvidia Nforce Audio, and the Default Recording device is also Nvidia Nforce Audio.

Using a Head set test sound
Connect the Earphone jack to the usually geen Jack of the Sound card and the Mic jack to the Red or Pink Mic-in .I hope you have not inadvertently muted sound in Sound volume! Anyway, take a second look:-)
In Sound and Audio Devices Properties dialog box click Sound and select a Windows .wav sound scheme to play and listen
You can test your Headset also using Sound Recorder in Programs>Accessories>Entertainment for Mic sound output or any of the Audio tools of Messengers. [MSN/Yahoo]
Speaker's Jack to the Green Sound Port aka SPKR in portand if powered make necessary changes to its Power connection and switches.
Hope this solves your problem.
