cant flash bios

i want to flash my bios, but when im in the command promt and type c:(thats with a startup disk) its says that C: is an invalid drive letter!!(im running a dual boot with linux , that could be de problem?)if not any ideas? thanks in advance

I spent yesterday wrestling with the same problem. Couldn't get to the C drive, when you boot off "xp boot diskette". Finally, I just took the motherboard out and put it in another computer, booted with 98 disk and got the flash to work.

I don't think dual-booting is causing any problems. However, could it be that the boot floppy you are using does not support your IDE or SCSI controller?
