can't find widows firewall

Product: dell 2400

i can't find my windows firewall...its nowhere in my control panel. i did, however, just reinstall my OS. could this have anything to do with it? there is a firewall somewhere preventing my p2p program from working properly- but the only one i have is mcafee and its turned off

In Control Panel, look for Security Center it's in there.

it's supposed to be in there but it's nowhere to be found, that's why this is so bizarre to me...

have you done all your critical up-dates? You may want to try Comodo Free firewall...it works good and possibly dump McAfee.

you need service pack 2 from microsoft. windows firewall is only in service pack 2.

to find out if you already have sp2 right click on my computer and click on properties.

if you do not have SP2 youget get it from here (genuine windows required)

Tino704, Womdows XP SP1 also has a Firewall. To access it go to the Control Panel and open Network Connections, right click your Connection icon choose Properties and you'll find the Firewall settings under the Advanced tab.
