My internet explorer is damaged basicly beyond repair and I want to reinstall windows XP on my computer but I can't find the label with my ID number(serial number).. Please can anyone tell me if it's stored on my computer and if it is can you please pleeeeeeeaaassseee tell me how to find it. If so thanks ALOT

well the serial number is stored on the system but only as a viewing code infact it has oem in the middle the only thing you can do is contact microsoft and ask for informations about the code. they will aks you some questions eg. where you bought the cd and if you registred it they will just ask you the registred informations.
if that doesnt work either you can find on the net cracks and serial numbers generators but remember those are illegal

I have a small utility that will display your cdkey for you.
leave your email or send me an email and I will send it to you. I would give you the link to the site but I cannont remember where i got it from.

go here and look all the way at the bottom. there is a program to view your product number.

If you are looking for your KEY it is in the regestry I happened upon it the other day. The ID # is different it is an algarythim of your KEY and hardware configuration

Do a search for this file wpa.dbl and wpa.bak and copy them to floppy . After you reinstall windows as long as it is the SAME PC WITH THE SAME HARDWARE You can copy it in to the windows>system32 folder and that will reactivate it for you
