Cant find hard drive

Device manager recognizes my 2nd hard drive as working fine, but my computer doesn't see it. My Computer only shows one hard drive and an optical drive. Any clues?

Is it a new hard drive? If so, you need to format it. You can do so by going to Computer management > Disk management to format your drive.

Clarification. I am building a computer and the drive plugged into sata 1 is seen in the bios as well as the device manager, but not anywhere else.

you will need to go into disk management to format your new SATA drive then right click on my computer > click manage > click disk management > select the appropriate drive > right click > format
