Hi ppl
When i do Right click -> Explore on my CD_ROM, Windows Explorer opens the Desktop folder... I cannot open CDs the normal way as well. This occured after a repair installation of WindowsXP over the old installation. Seems that it caused more damage than repair...
How to solve the problem?
Thanks

Might be an XP problem due to your repair but try this:

1. Right-click Start, and then click Explore.
2. Right-click DVD/CDRW, click Properties, and then click the Recording tab.
3. Click to clear the Enabled CD recording on this drive check box.
4. Click OK.

This clears recording for the CD. It might correct the problem.

Also try: Uninstall the CD rom. Then reboot it will detect and use the correct drivers. If this doesn't work problem is with Explorer. Try sfc /scannow. You'll need your cd. If you don't have SP1 you may have to update all windows files again.
