I can not enter my bios setup with Microsoft XP. I hit delete and it goes straight to the Windows login prompt. I have American Megatrends, AMIBIOS 11/09/2001S

Reboot your pc, try one of these commands or keys right after the memory check: F1, F2, Ctrl+Alt+Esc, Ctrl+Alt+S, or Del. Bye now

XP is not causing this I can assure you!
Try powering your monitor on before your PC so you get a chance to see the BIOS screen(sometimes the monitor display will not reach full clarity before the operating system begins to load.
On this screen, there will be listed something like "Press DEL to enter BIOS", or some other key as mentioned in Joseph's post.
Are you running a USB keyboard - if so, you may need to boot up with a standard one so you can enter your BIOS and then set USB Keyboard to Enabled - otherwise you will never be able to get into yout BIOS.
Hope this helps.

What you have to do is keep rebooting, and each time try a new key. Eventually one of the keys will work. DEL does nothing on my computer. And my computer doesn't display messages. All it cares about is booting up fast.

XP has a quick boot feature that you must disable before the machine will pause long enough to respond to the enter setup command. I did it awhile ago, but I forget how it is changed in XP. I am looking...
