Hey, I can't download anyt *exe file. I have tried with Internet Download Manager and FlashGet. Both of them can't download any exe file after 95 - 99%. But I can download other files (ex. ZIP, RAR). So, what's the problem here? That was the problem in windows XP. So, I rebooted and now running windows 2000 Pro which I have installed last night. The problem is here also. Rithg now I'm trying to download Norton's Definition and after 95$ that freezes.

What's the problem? Please help me.

You may have the msblaster or sasser worm. Go sysmantec.com and run the fixes. Update windows first.

Razib: a few ideas;

1. if you cannot download desired .exe file, try the corresponding .ZIP file; some firewalls don't allow downloading .exe files.

2. try this .exe fix from Kelly Theriot, MS-MVP;

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/exefix.reg

3. a plugin in Internet Explorer may be at fault.
first, set a Restore point,
try this registry fix;
click Start, Run, type: regedit
scroll down to:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Plugins\Extension

expand Extension,
if .exe found, highlight it,
in the right-pane, double-click Location to open the Edit String box,
in the Value data field, write down the location if case needed for future reference,
press the Backspace key to clear the entry,
OK.

let us know what worked for you...

Oh! First of all SORRY for the late reply. I don't know what was the problem. My Windows was updated as well as virus definition. I did scan my PC but didn't get any viruses. But after 2 - 3 hours the problem was solved. Whatever I did was, I cleaned all the temorary files. Then I deleted the downloaded file (whice were freezed @ 90%) then i put the link again and then I was able to download those files.

Thanks for ur replyes guys.
