If that is the only email in the Outbox (queued to send), an easy option would be to close OE, locate "Outbox.mbx" on your computer and delete it. OE will recreate that folder (empty) the next time you open OE.

You can try not logging onto the Pop account (just hit cancel at logon box) then see if you can go to the sent folder and delete it.

Open Outlook and don't enter your user name and password to sign on to the pop server. Click the cancel button at the logon screen and then go to the sent folder and delete the outgoing message.

open outlook express then click on the "Send/Rec" button and then click on stop. Then delete the e-mail you were trying to send.

Ooops! Just realized my mistake... it is "outbox.dbx", not a "mbx" extension.

With OE closed, locate that file and delete it.
OE will recreate a "fresh" empty outbox.dbx next time you open OE.

Maybe you should explain the "we" term.

Is this on a network, etc.? Provide some more "context/environment" info.

(Tsk-tsk! You should have done that right from the start...)

Dude, Outbox.dbx is a hidden file! You need to unhide hidden files to see it!

You need to enable the option to view hidden files. Then, you'll find the file here:

C:\Documents and Settings\userid\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\Identity number\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Did you find the Outlook Express folder under your daughter's profile?

Just wondering why you said "We dont use a username and password to sign into a pop account when using OE". It's not possible to configure a POP account without a username and password.

yes we found the OE folder but there isnt any kind of file that resembles an outbox whatsoever.

Yes we have a username and password but OE comes up automatically so dont know how to bring this information up.

I am a novice at this as you have gathered sorry

What files are listed in the Outlook Express folder, and are you positive she's running OE and not Outlook?

I'm still not clear on what you can/cannot do after you open OE, so the following suggestions may not apply.

If possible:
• select "Work Offline" under File in OE.

Or, if possible:
• Under "Tools/Options...", select the "Maintenance" tab
• under this tab, click on the "Store folder..." button -- this will reveal where your account folders are located
• while it is likely the location/path will exceed the width of the dialog box field, you can click-drag from left-to-right to highlight the complete location
• once highlighted, Copy this info onto the Clipboard, then Paste it into Notepad, to more easily read exactly where all the Account folders are located.
• use this information to delete the Outbox (while OE is closed).

Or, if possible:
• go to "Tools/Options...", under the "Send" tab
• UN-check the "Send messages immediately" option.
• Close OE.
This will prevent OE from trying to send that file rhe next time you open OE -- then you should be able to delete the queued file from within OE.
