Are you "logged" into Windows with Administrator rights?

It's a good day when you learn something

✔ Best Answer
Method #1
Start>Run>type CMD
then write
cd c:\documents and settings\YOUR USER NAME\desktop
and then get the exact name of your file and write
and your file will delete

Method #2
Use this if your CMD didn't take you to your desktop
1st: open notepad and write "dir"
2nd: save it to your desktop to "anything.bat"
3rd: run anything.bat from desktop and search for your file in the list and know its name exactly and then write in the command prompt
and your file will delete

Hope it helps

You could also try the File Assassian tool built into Malwarebytes Free or the "Delete file on reboot" option in the Misc tools section of HijackThis.

Apologies if I don't respond to your reply immediately. I don't check this site daily, but you're welcome to PM me as a reminder.

... (being used so you can'nt delete it? make sure you close the graphics program that created it)
... maybe its something pretending to be a "jpg" (?)

... try the "three finger salute" [press] <Ctrl> <Alt> <Delete> <keys>

... which should bring up "windows task manager" click "processes"

... see the longfilename in the list? if so click it then "end process"

... if it was listed you should be able to now delete it.

... as #4 suggests download

... install, update the definitions and scan your pc.

... did have long filename problem years ago might be an idea to bootup with a live cd then delete it from that location!
Demonstrative exspelling
... there is logic to this madness!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... .im
