I have a certain file under C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\O942SDWE title "1O4-4583528-8646333[1]." with no extension. When I click on it, an error message pops up saying "Cannot find the C:\....8646333[1]. file. Make sure the path or Internet address is complete." When I try to delete it, an error message pops up saying "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk." When I right click on the file and look at the properties, it has no name, no icon, it's not a type of file of any kind, has no extension (ends with ".") it doesn't open with anything, it has no size, no size on disk, doesn't say when it was created, modified, or accessed and the read-only and hidden boxes are un-checked. The only thing I haven't tried is deleting it under safe-mode or MS-DOS but I'm afraid it's only going to say "no such file" as it's doing now.

That's kind of the problem I have, if you read my post.

You could try the file tool in JV16 PowerTools. I've used it to remove files that wouldn't let me delete them any other way. Do a google search for the free download.

Just a thought... did you try booting into safe mode and removing it there?

Belou, If that file you're trying to delete is in one of those alpha/numeric folders under the Content IE5 folder try Opening Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/General tab, click the Delete Files button and when the pop-up window appears put a checkmark in "delete all off-line content" and click OK. This generally deletes all of those alpha/numeric folders and the files inside them. They will automatically be recreated by Windows.
