Hi,
Hi,
I have searched this but none of what i found helped.

I downloaded or download (some of) a jpg file (i am not sure if the dl completed) its on my desktop and I cannot delete it

When I right click on it it says
Preview
Edit
Print
Preview
Open with
Send to

only the preview works but there is no picture there. (theres no delete option)

I've tried highlighting it and pressing delete but no message or anything happens the file just stays there

I have tried clicking and dragging to the trash/bin but no message comes up, the file just doesn't delete

i've tried a few programs like moveon, killbox, unlocker to no avail

please help if you can

The file came from a p2p share program called limewire. it was supposed to be a screenshot of a game I want.

I've tried a system restore to no avail.

Can you delete it by going into safe mode ? You mean nothing happens when you hit delete ? Is limewire running when your trying to delete ? Make sure its not running.

Download and install either Move On Boot, or Unlocker.

You should load Windows in safe mode by pressing F8. However, Windows cant delete files or a program that are “live”. This means the program or some elements of it are actually running. The program or one its services may be running silently in the background or being shared with another application. To disconnect all applications associated with the program, Press Crtl-Alt-Delete time to pull up the task manager. You will need to disable all the services associated with the program. Here is how:

1. Open your "Start"menu.
2. Click “Run”
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click "service"
5. Uncheck all executable(.exe) files associated with the program you want to remove.
6. Click "OK"http://www.delete-computer-history.com/cant-delete.html
