I have a file in my "My documents"-folder that I can't get rid of. It's called CAY1WJKB. (no file ending) and it's 0 byte. I have tried deleting it from cmd (boot to cmd) and to replace it. it always says that it can't read from disk or file. the file doesn't seem to exist on the drive, only in windows.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Can you create a new folder, drag the file to it and then delete the folder?

nope. whenever I try to access the file it says that it can't read from file or disk. it is not a hidden or system file. I have tried to hide them but the file's still visible

There is a useful utility called CIA COMMANDER (do a google search and read the instructions before using it). I think it is a shareware utility, but it's worth having.
Oh, and it fits on a floppy, since you run the program on boot-up.
CIA COMMANDER worked wonders for me. It allowed me to delete a rebellious file trying all other possible ways.
Good luck.
