Do you already have more than 1 partition on the HD? I just went through this a few days ago and as it turned out the D: partition I was trying to resize had some system files on it and wouldn't unlock.

Without seeing how you set up Pm I can't help. Maybe someone else may have an idea. Good luck. BTW, always backup before using PM. It has been known to trash a partition.

and where the 25G will go if i resize my sysem partition. create a new partition for it or joint it with the exist partition.

i don't have any partition magic. i only got XP system disk. but as i know, XP seems only got 2 options in partitioning, create n delete partition

Whoopee-e- you will need a third party program such as PM. I understand there are free one's available from the net, but have never used them. Should you decide to do this, backup first and be very careful. You can trash the system.
Juan- I looked up the error message #27. It says PM cannot lock the drive if it has files in use on the partition. It doesn't give a solution but maybe you can get one from the PM website.
I think you will probably have to shrink C: drive first then go back and create a new partition from the unallocatted space.

"Shrink" meaning resize it to the size you want then create a new partition in the space left after the resize.

Juan,

How exactly are you creating the new partition. First of all, you need to resize the C partition to make room for the newly created partition(s).

First i resize the partition and then restart the computer and still gave me the error 27. I am still looking on google to see if there is a solution to it.

You say you restart the computer. You must let PM do it's thing on the resize. It will restart the machine. Then create the new partition.
