This is driving me nuts, for over a week now I have been getting the 'Page not found' error, I can't get rid of it, so I can't connect, to my Server that is, I can get 'on line' going by the 'Service Status' display, but that's it.

It's been so long now that I have lost track with what I have done to correct this problem, I have run (all up to date) Norton AV, Ad-aware, SpyBot nothing obvious found. I don't have p2p of any flavour installed. I've also tried many System Restore points to no avail.

I am running XP Pro on a P4 2.5MHz with 512Mb of memory, IE6 is what is giving the problem, (?!!?)

I think I read somewhere that a MS Hotfix recently has given this problem, (?) but I can't find the article again, I might be wrong.

Just in case you are wondering, at the moment I am using my wife's machine (XP Home, IE6) with my 'modem', cables etc connected to my normal ISP - no problems - by the way the machines are not Networked, both Stand Alone.

As we both use our machines at the same time, for doing different things (I'm on the Net), she's not, things are getting a little difficulte with me needing to get connected, can anyone save our marriage? ----- please

Communication is the key.
I assume that your server is really your ISP's server or the web page that you wish to access?

Also I must guess that both computers access the internet via modem.

Here are some things that may help. Clear cache in IE. Use "repair" command on your internet connection at network connections window. Check all your login settings with your isp. Be sure to double check DNS and DHCP setting in IP settings for that connection. You might have to delete that (better know your password) connection and make a replacement using new connection wizard.
