I am connected to a Cable/DSL line and have recently not been able to connect to the internet. It worked fine for about a week and has always worked in the past but nothing happens lately. When I view network connections it says I am connected and all devices seem to be working properly. Any help? It's a HP N5425 with XP Home.

Hi Bryan
Have you tried disconnecting your modem from it's power source ( turn off at power socket on the wall and pull the plug )
This will reset the modem back at ISP HQ !
Wait 2 minutes, replug, and you should be able to connect to the Internet.

Well if he is indeed connected, then the problem might be related to stack corruption and resetting the modem may not help, but no harm trying.
I suggest you also try system restore prior to the time the problem started and if that fails to fix the problem, download and run WinSock XP Fix to repair your stacks.
