Dear group:
I installed Nero 7 Premium and something really strange happened. All of my media file icons now have the WinAmp icon next to the file names. So I right clicked on one of the media files and clicked properties and changed the "Opens with" file option back to Windows Media Player and clicked apply and then closed the properties window.
But the WinAmp icon still appears next to all my media files. If I double click to open one of these files it opens with Windows Media Player.
But the problem is I want the Windows Media Player icon next to my media file names NOT the WinAmp icon.

Your Nero is probably a special edition that came with DVD drive. If this is the case it may be bundled with WinAMP. By not removing a checkmark that says something like "Associate all media file icons with this program," you got what you now have.
First try WinAMP configuration menu. If there is no option to disassociate the icons, try the following tip:
Summary: Would any of you please tell me which program (or easiest method) you would use to change Windows file-icons (ie: .pdf, .7z, .rar)? IconTweaker & IconPackager can change many file-icons, but I need to...
Summary: I have just uninstall winamp and now my windows media player does not show the windows media player icons on the music files. Can someone help me please get these icons back. thanks ...
