can't change folder name

Under Local Disc/Documents and Settings, and along with All Users, Default User etc, I have a named folder which I want to change. However, if I try to rename it using Explorer, I am told this is a Windows System file and it cannot be renamed.
The computer was previously employed in a LAN setup and the directory folder (that I want to rename) bears a name that now does not apply to its present location (although it is still on the same LAN).
How can I change this folder to show the present location as a name (or any name for that matter) as the folder name?

those folders are there according to user accounts, go to control panel and users to see if there are any other accounts in the current name of the folder
