I get two news letters each day as emails. After reading I try to save as D:\. Since oct. I get an error message that says the disc is full. When I put a new disc in the drive I get the same message. When I look at the disc in windows explorer in details it tells me how large the disc is and 0 free bytes. How do I fix this problem?

Are you using the same brand of cd's that you have always used. If you have changed brands, chek for a firmware update for your drive that will allow all brands of media to be used.

Yes indeed.(Verbatim 48x)I went so far as to format the drive and reinstall windows. Still get the same error message. I now must use Nero7 Ultra, or MMJB to burn data to the disc. If I take out my Seagate 120 (C), and replace with my back up Maxtor 80 that works. No problems.

Hmm!, and this just started out of the blue? I would still check for a firmware update at the manufacturer's support site, and see if that solves the prblem. Be sure to select save the old firmware when prompted, just in case other problems are created.

You have check the device to see if there any problems listed?

Is the burner still listed as a burner in the Windows Explore? cdrw or cdrom?

Have you installed anything new since you made your backup?

I Have Three Burners,1. NEC3520AW DVD RW 16X (Master)Optorite DVD RW DD0201 4X (Slave)and Samsung SW248FCD-R/RW (USB) that came with the machinewith the computer. Updated all three.Remember take the Seagate out and put in the Maxtor and the software works. Emachines uses a lincensed version of Roxio to burn cd or if you like sometimes called burn now. Roxio says it a eMachine problem. I spent over an hour with eMachines and they finially told me they didn't know how to fix the problem.
The problem started when I downloaded a Copy of the SONY movie Stealth. I went to SONY and they say there is nothing on the DVD that would cause this to happen. Ya right, just like they wouldn't put anything on their music CD's like a root kit.
After this I reformated the hard drive and did a reinstall. The first thing after reinstalling Windows XP was to see if the burn now program worked. It doesn't. One thing I learned from this is Don't Buy anything fron Sony. And two is Windows doesn't see any space that is free on CD's.

Try saving them to the hard drive first, then sending them to the CD.

Yes the computer sees all three burners when ALL THREE are connected. I don't usually connect the Samsung but I can if I want to burn cds with the Samsung.
I now save the data I want to burn in a folder in My Doc. using Nero7 Ultra. No Burn Now does not work saving data to the hard drive. All three burners will burn any media. (Cheap junk from Wal-Mart).
BTW. "Read this this morning"
The government is warning companies about the use of rootkits. An official said that a repeat of Sony's recent rootkit debacle could lead to legislation. The problem is apparently continuing. A rootkit was recently discovered in a German DVD release of an American movie.
SONY LIES.
