I can burn CDs witht he built in software by dragging files and dropping them on the drive, but regular program's: Nero 5.0, won't work.

CDRWIN says "No CDROM recording device was found on the SCSI or IDE bus!" and Easy CD Creator says "Nero 5.0 Initialization has failed....

Nero v 5.5.5.1 is for Xp and it works!
Easy CD Creator Platinum v5.02b works too, except "Direct CD". (Maybe it WILL work, but I haven't been able to make it work yet. Doesn't really matter though.)
Problems? Send me a mail at kjell@eriksen-family.net and I'll try to help you!

Yo everyone!

I have an ACER 8*4*32 cdwriter and it works fine in Win2000. After I swtich to XP RTM 2600, I receive an error message "SCSI target error" at about 25% burning process from Nero Burn 5.5 <--- similar error message in Easy CD 5.0 too. This funniest fun is the burner uses IDE interface instead of SCSI. Newest ASPI is installed and still no goal........Anyone????

After loading CDRWIN, noticing that no ASPI was installed, I have installed forced ASPI, and tried to backup an overburn cd on my windows xp Pro OS (spiderman). No worries except when i looked at the cd. The last 100MB of the CD was burned with a different shade than the previous 650MB. On a friend's ACER 12x10x32 his burn-proof compatible burner created multiple coasters, using windows xp, cdrwin, etc. I am using a quality burner (brand new liteon 24x10x40) and I have burned Spiderman successfully before on this burner using Windows ME.

Can any of you duplicate this problem?
Are rumours true that Windows XP blocks users from reading/writing non-standard CDS (cds that are more than 650mb) ??

is there a solution to fix the burning problem I am having burning cds with windows xp?
