Hi,
I cannot copy files to a blank CD, nor can I burn an audio CD from "Windows Media Player". When I click my CD-RW drive in "My Computer", it just askes me to put a disk in the drive, as it does with my CD-ROM drive, and it does not recognize a blank CDR disk. In "Windows Media Player", when I click on "Copy to CD or Device", the right-hand side of the screen just below "Music on Device" does not show my CD-RW Drive, as a device to choose from. I also have XP installed on a 2nd machine, and I have the same problem with that system. Both systems, seemed to recognize the CD-RW drives, on installation. I have a Plextor 12/10/32A in one, and a Sony CRX160E-A1 in the other, and both drives are on XP's compatibility list. The properties area of each drive, lists the correct CD-RW drive models. But, the same Microsoft Driver version (5.1.2535.0) is installed for both CD-RW drives and is also installed for our standard Sony CDU-5211 CD-ROM drives. Which leads me to beleive, that although WinXP clearly identified each CD-RW drive correctly, it has installed them as standard CD-ROM drives. We can read from them, as we can from our standard CD-ROM drives.Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks, Bob
