Hi! I wanted to make a new Win98 partition on a HP Pavilion 731k using Partition Magic 7. The partition was made and I installed Win98 on it without problems. Unfortunately, when I tried to boot with the XP partition, it didn't work, it only states something like: "No OS found".
The worst part is this model of HP PC's do not came with recovery CD's but include a partition within the HDD with drivers and software. This recovery partition isn't accesible anymore either.
I'm terrified, what can I do? (Apart from asking HP for CDs which will take ages to arrive)
Thanks in advance, any advice will be welcome.

Hi Xavier, Have you tried booting from the partition magic rescue disks? You may have to set your bios to boot from floppy first. That should get you in to where you can move the patition with XP on it back to a bootable partition

pq strongly suggests that you make emergency
boot disks as part of the installation process.
you did make them, didn't you ?
otherwise you must install pm on another machine & make them now

Hi again... thanks for answering.
I already deleted Win98 partition (aiming to get back to the original disk status). Now, XP boots but won't go further away from start screen. Also, theres a PM error message while XP is loading.
Well, yes, I had made those boot disks from PM. The PC boots with them and then 2 partitions appear now :
1)The recovery one, wich I can't boot from.
2)The XP one, which after a check, displays the next message:Error 1516 Partition improperly dismounted
What should I do now?
Cheers...
Really worried, Xavier
