can't boot from cd/no floppy drive

well recently i posted another message kind of like this one but it wasn't clear so i'm going to attempt to make this one clearer..ok..i have this ibm thinkpad 600 laptop its very old..it was working fine untill one day i just couldn't boot to windows anymore..so i tried to boot from the cd drive..i went into my bios and changed it to boot from the cd (cd>>harddrive) which doesn't work..i can't boot from a floppy drive because i don't have the floppy drive for it no more..so anyone have any suggestions on how i can start windows again or to format it or just anything that will help me get my laptop up and working again..thanks...

Are you sure it can't boot from CD? Try reseting the BIOS settings to default, then configuring it to boot from CD... then insert the bootable XP CD in and see if that works.
If it still fails, your CD drive could be dead. Try taking it to a repair store.

my cd drive is still working.. and yea i have set the bios to default then changed it back to boot from the cd drive...any other suggestions?
