✔ Best Answer
A couple of possible work-arounds:

Try clicking 'properties' instead of 'manage'. Then 'hardware', then 'device manager'.

Or go to 'settings' from the START button. Then control panel, then 'system', then 'hardware', then 'device manager'.

Youi're welcome. It's possible yoiur compmgmt.msc is corrupted or you may need to be signed in as an administrator for it to work.

You could also click start, run, and type devmgmt.msc. If what you originally posted isn't a typo, it looks like a setting to the path of the management console got messed up. http://social.technet.microsoft.com... has a lot of useful ideas about this issue.
