|Thanks for this suggestion, although I haven't tried it - when I turned on my computer this morning, I gave it one more try, and to my surprise was able to get into the SSA site without having changed/done anything different! Perhaps it's something to do with my ISP? I also noticed on the site they say:|

Saturday: 5 AM - 11 PM ET
Sunday: 8 AM - 11:30 PM ET
Although this doesn't explain my problem because I got a colleague to try from another location and he was able to access the site at the same time that I couldn't.
