can't access real player

Specs: winXP home, 512MB
Since upgrading my DSL last week when I try to access any website that uses real player I get the following prompt: Real Player has detected a change in your internet conn. would you like to change you bandwith settings? I also get the statement: a network cable has been unplugged.
I changed my bandwidth settings, I downloaded a new real player, I've called my internet provider 3 times & they are adamant it is not their problem.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong & how I can fix it? Do you think it is the providers problem. I don't know what else to do. Thanks for any help.

It isn't the providers problem it is a software issue w/ Real Player's configuration.
