After formatting a laptop computer, and re-installing windows xp and sp2 I go to access the internet, and after 1 minute or so, it jumps off the internet in the sense that it just stops working, no warning nothing... could it have to do with this validation thing? it is genuine windows, however can't validate anything without access to the internet. Then I tried on another machine, installing sp2 - and it did exactly the same thing...
All drivers etc are all up2date... so I wonder what it could be, could it the validation thing?

Mads Christiansen, SWAG, the whole idea behind SP2 was to beef up security. Sounds like your's did, to the point that it thinks you're a bad guy. See if you need to reset something or allow something in security. HTH. Ed in Texas.
