I cannot access any of the files I've mistakenly moved into this folder 'b676a83a074957e609ff4ca761b77f'. I have tried the normal remedies of changing from read-only, copy and paste, moving and it says access is denied. Its a folder on my f drive, has a folder 'download' in it, and has accwiz.exe._p. urlmon.dll, shdocvw.dll, itircl.dll in it. I also tried to access it when i accessed the folder as a slave drive on another computer to no avail. Thanks for any help.

access denied? have you tried to close all programs and process (except the major one of course)? it may be something who use a file in the folder. Try to change the active directory too... I guess opening a dos windows (cmd in execute menu) and changing directory from could work..
another thing could be a broken hard drive... do a fully complete scandisk of all sectors to verify...
and where is that b676a83thing folder come from anyway?! lol

Here is an idea go to the start button, go to run, and type cmd. Next, hit ctrl-alt-del and click task manager. From here, click processes and find explorer.exe. Right click it and choose end task, hit yes when prompted. Don't worry, all your windows will close at this point (make sure you don't have any unsaved documents open - everything but task manager and your dos prompt window will close). Ok, now for some old fashioned dos. Type in your drive letter that your folder is on (D:\Documents and Settings\dan>h:). Now, type in dir and you will see all files and folders. Simply find the folder you want to go into and type cd foldername. Keep doing this until you get to your weird named folder (whats with the name anyway). Then, type copy <filename> <destination> For example, lets say I have a file named new.doc saved in my H:\files\word directory. I want to move it into my d: drive. I would type copy new.doc d: and that would copy the file into the d: drive. To get your computer up and going again, simply go back to the task manager, go to file choose new task, and type in explorer.exe. I hope that solves your problem, if not let me know.
