Hi I don't know if anyone can help. I had the problem where I had the desktop tab missing in my display properties
http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/... so I went to the website: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_... and used numb 285 (on the right) to add the tab, this did add the tab to my display properties but I couldn't actually change the background so I used the "Remove All Display Tabs & Icon" which changed my registry, now I can't acces my display properties at all! everytime I click it I get the message "Your system administrator disabled the display control panel." is there anyway I can change this back or have I totally screwed myself over?
Many thanks, jamflan

System Restore back to before the problem arose?

I would say that on line 285 do the "Restore all
Display tabs".
Then do
CTRL + F
on that page for the word Wallpaper or Background for your other problem.

Problems can be caused by Spyware.
Do you check for, and remove, Spyware ??
Spyware includes ----
Adware, Dialers, Browser Hijackers, Trojans, Cookies,
Key Loggers, Trackware, and other Malware while browsing the internet.

Most Virus and Spyware scans are likely to work better in Windows Safe-Mode.

Try these tools to restore access to control panel:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/RRT_Remov...
Reboot and you will have some access.

Then scan with http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5...
To clean malware and will have full access.

jamflan, Go to the link below and scroll down to line 203 (left column) and click on "Restore Display Icon in Control Panel" to download a reg file and save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. Your missing Display icon problem should be solved.
