Hi, I have a message saying:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
This only happens if I try to open my C or D drive (partitioned on the same drive) from My Computer. I can right click on C and Explore it no problem. I may have deleted a file during an uninstall or something. I use Revo Unintall cause of it's thouroughness. I've gone on lots of places on the internet with no luck.

Will not hurt to try this ---
Click Start, then RUN, then type
regsvr32 /i shell32
Note the space between 2 and /, & i and s

"I may have deleted a file during an uninstall or something" That may be the problem. Did you try a System Restore?

regsvr32 /i shell32 didn't work and for some reason system restore wouldn't restore my PC to a later point.

Try some of these with regards to Permissions --
