Hello. I am a person who usues the computer evyt day for huge amounts of time. I also print a lot of color out from my printer. I have an epson stlus photo (forgot the number) and it is getting tremendously insanly loud. I cant stand it anymore. Mt friends have recommened me getting a canon printer. I did some research and came across the Canon I850, and Ive read its one of the best printers right now. Is it better than epson, hp, and lexmark, and how is it on noise is it quiet or loud. thanks for taking the time in reading this.

I have just Installed a Canon S750 - it's fast (USB) and extremely quiet as compared with my old (Parallel)Epson Stylus 600

I dont know about the I850 but the S750 has four Cartridges as opposed to the usual two - colour reproduction is very good

I have no experience of HP or Lexmark but did quite a bit of research before deciding on the Canon

I've had 2 lexmark printers and next time I will probably get something different. It is a bit loud and the cartridges are high prices. I would probably get an Epson or Canon.

I had an Epson c40ux.It did a great job with color photos. But it went thru ink way too fast and paperjams were a non-stop problem.I'll never own another Epson.I did a lot of research and I ordered a Canon S300 bubble-jet printer. It costs double what I paid for the Epson, but is supposed use less ink and have cheaper cartridges. The user reviews that I found were positive.I haven't had a H/P or Lexmark.Regards.JB

I have a HP 930c and find it excellent for Photo quality work and isn't too heavy on ink, and I think when you are buying a printer this should be a major consideration.
It could save you a lot of money due to the outragious priced of ink.
Do some research there, I know I would next printer I buy ..

I have used HP almost exclusively and have been happy with them. I have used Lexmark and do not like them, and Epson a little, and they are OK but not as good as HP overall, and HP support is better, IMHO.

If you want to do some research on user feedback,I surfed printers at amazon.com.There is a write-up and at the bottom of the page there are some user feedback comments that are usually good for comparing products.I found a lot of un-biased opinions both good and bad. That helped me a lot when I was looking for a printer recently.Hope this helps.JB

Hi Andrew.

I have a Canon S900.

It is quiet and the photos are beautiful. Photos printed on Canon's Photo Paper Pro make people go "wow" when they see it.

An 8 x 10 prints in 2 min. A 4 x 6 prints in less than 30 seconds.

The Canon also has individual ink tanks so when one color runs out, you only replace that color unlike some other printers that put 3 colors in one cartridge.

Here is a link to a website that has reviews. They show pictures of what they are reviewing as well as having very indepth reviews.

Steve has a review of the Canon i850 that you are interested in and he likes it.
