Canon S400 USB Problem

I had a Canon S400 Printer working with the USB, while it was set over Win Me all was fine, i did upgrade may OS to XP Pro and it start to work fine, but after a couple of OS Updates it has start to deniy to work, the usb is unable to recognize the printer even upgrading the Canon Driver, the cable is fine i have tested, but i'm asking for help while i test the paralell option. Thx!
