My Canon N640P ex is undetectable under WindowsXp Professional. I have no other devices using the parallel port and it is enabled in the BIOS as an ECP port using 378/Irq 7/DMA 3. When I install the drivers and the program that canon supplies I get an out of memory error when attempting to scan and a port in use error when attempting to calibrate. Windows XP does not see the scanner in the device manager and I can't install it as one (the CD does not provide an inf file for installation, it just installs the drivers and writes to the reigstry). Any Ideas?
