above printer out of the blue owont print in color no info found anywhere repair shop quoted $100.00 au to diagnose plus ? for repair/ sounds like a new printer to me also where di I go to print a test page? the option didn't come up on re-install

Your Canon came with software, and on that software is a Canon User's Guide with all the instructions. Check your guide for how to check the printer properties and maintenance / printhead alignment / ink maintenance; it's all in the guide that came with your Canon.

There is also a "Quick Start" guide and a User manual that details problems.
Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!
