Whenever I print text out with my canon MP370, my printer changes the density of each line so like every other line is really bold, some are normal, and others are light colored. I did deep cleaning several times but the same problem persists. I had the same issue with my old lexmark z43. What gives? Is this a bad printer head? if it is why would there be darker text then? I am using cheapo ink from 123inkjets.com and I've installed a new cartridge but still the same problems. When I print out the nozzle check the grid on the first graph is always broken at the same places and when I print out a head alignment page, the "best" alignment for some of the columns are pretty broken up. The entire A column has all white vertical lines so I had to arbitrarily pick one Does this narrow the problem down? Hahahaha I bought a canon printer for the purpose of the really cheap ink, seems its backfiring.

sounds like you may have another problem, if you had the same thing with a lexmark,
1st try both printers on another computer.
(this should assertain if in deed it is a printer problem)
if it replicates the prob, return the printer.2nd try the newest drivers from the manufacturer on both your printers and two different computers (if possible)
if the printers are ok, then you know its either the drivers, the printers or your computer
3rd, try the real cartridge, clean a few times and try the new maunfacturers ink.
if its still a problem, its your computer config or a bad cable/socket.
try a new cableupdate your usb drivers ?
let us know what happens.
i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
