Specs: Windows XP
I have a 'Canon BJC-80', I am using USB+ parallel cable connection to my computer and it prints fine on Windows XP but but it takes 5 minutes or more to start printing on Microsoft words.
Any help would be appreciated.

Printing Slowly

If you get the this printer printing very slowly, try reinstalling it as a BJC4000. Also make sure that the printer is set to Bi-Directional instead of ECP (in the computers BIOS). Also it may be worth going into the printer's properties and try setting the spool option to 'Print Direct to Printer'.

Why are you connecting both USB and parallel cables? You should use either one or the other.

I think you may get better results with USB but there are variables.

Try removing the parallel cable, remove the printer from the printer list and then reboot. Install the printer as a local printer using the Add new printer option in printers. WinXP should already have drivers for that printer.
