Canon bj2100 problems ! HELP

I just bought a new HP computer with WINXP - After setting up, I installed my scanner and canon bjc2100 printer - well I scanned a page and printed it from the scanner ok - no problems - then went to other programs and tried to print with no luck at all ! I unhooked the scanner completly, and hooked printer directly to computer - no luck ! I downloaded the new driver from Canon and installed - no luck ! I even did a system recovery - no luck ! Been to Canon - Microsoft - and HP sites - sent emails - read till I was blue - did all that was recomended - no luck ! Switched printer cable (a new one) no luck ! Tried another Canon printer I own - no luck ! Both printers DO work on win 95/98 ! I am at my wits end here !!!! At this point, I am VERY UNHAPPY with WINXP !! Wish I had my old Win98 BACK :-( I need my printer so bad for my little business and I need any help or advise from you nice people :-) Am I the only one having this problem with the Canon bjc 2100 printer and winxp ?
