cannot write to DVD/CD burner

I have Nero Software and Arcsoft DVD Slideshow. Neither software can write to my burner when I try to "Write to Disc" or Burn DVD/CD. Furthermore when I check the properties of each drive the system shows me that they are full. When I click on "Troubleshoot" the system tells me that all is okay when it definitely is not. Do I need a need DVD burner?

According to CNET Reviews, your machine has a double layer DVD burner, so you're okay there. What kind of disc are you using when you attempt to burn, and have you formatted the disc or is it unformatted?

Most DVD burners don't need the disks to be formatted. You might try some alternate (free) burning software to see if that makes any difference:
