When I click on Start, menu items are missing in the list. Also, when I click on Start/Run or Search, I receive the follow: "Unable to create shortcut here, do you want to create a shortcut on the desktop?" I haven't found a virus yet, but it will not allow me to run an active virus scan from Panda.

See if the following keyboard keys work-
for RUN do
Windows key +R

and for Search do
Windows key +F

As for Start Menu clicks, you may have to watch for help from others.

JonW, For the missing Start Menu items right click your "Start button", choose Properties, click the "Customize" button, under the "Advanced" tab choose(tic)which items you want to appear under "Start menu items", click OK/Apply/OK.

In Windows HELP, click Index, then type

keyboard shortcuts

Below that, double click "List of Keys"
All of that type of information is there.

If clicking Help does not work too, then do
Windows key +F1

Do you check for, and remove Spyware from your computer ???
Spyware info.from Microsoft
Spyware can cause all sorts of problems.

JonW, For the Search & Run problems go to the link below and look under the letter "S"-"Search - Doesn't Work" then look under the letter "R"-"Run Command - Restore" where you may find some possible fixes.
